Smart, Porco, Wood, Bacon, Whitten, McLean, Grewell & Feister find H&M Collision Victory Lane on Week #2!
April 27, 2024
I do apologize, this should have been posted last week but got pushed back. Going to try and bring article back. Might be like this or a quick summary. Thank you all. Results from 4/27

Bandolero feature was the first race to take place. Jeffery Elkins III and Bensyn Feister start on the front row for their 12 lap feature. Feister pulled off an early lead and never looked back. Feister parked it for a second week in a row.

Wayne Dalton Sales & Service Street Stocks put on a show with flag to flag racing! Jason Grewell and Bob Passwaters Sr started on the front row. Grewell pulled out to an early lead but Passwaters Sr wasn’t giving up. Grewell would pull away but was still in sight of the challengers. Couldn’t count out the runs by Luke Porco & Brady Carte in the top 3. The closers were closing in on the top 3 now. Dennis Wood, Brandon Thomas & Bob Page were making a run on the outside. Grewell didn’t make it easy for Wood. Grewell protected the bottom and held his own. Wood used cross over of four to take the lead at lap 14. Thomas would follow, as Page closed in also. Wood, Thomas, Page would be under a blanket with 4 to go. Thomas gave the bumper a couple times. But at the double checkered flag, it was Dennis Wood getting his first win of the season.

Next on the racetrack was the O’Reilly Auto Parts Mini Trucks. Blake Ripley and Jake Beavers started up front. Ripley to an early lead but Beavers stayed on the high side. Here comes Jason Shaw looking three wide. Shaw to the inside of Beavers for second. Three wide almost four wide as Connor McLean looked way outside. Shaw looks to outside of Ripley for race lead but Bob Johnson now on the screen. Could put a blanket over the top 5. McLean looking three wide again into turn 3. McLean gets the bumper for Shaw for third but they keep going. Johnson looking low. Ripley keeps lead off of four as Johnson got sideways. McLean to the outside now for the lead with 3 to go. Off turn 4, McLean gets the lead. At the double checkered flag it was “Its Connor McLean” getting his first win of the season.

The McIntosh Oil Company Late Models would go flag to flag also but action was taken throughout the 30 lap feature. Kaleb Swanson and Denny Benjamin started on the front row. Benjamin used the outside lane and started to check out but not too far. Jesse Adams used the outside and moved to second and closed in. Lap 2, Adams used the inside to take the lead and started to check out but Benjamin wasn’t giving up and staying right there. Andrew Smart used the inside & outside to move up into the top 3. Austin Thiel started to move to the front for third as he got to the inside of Benjamin. The man on the move from the back was Jonathan Reitter. Bob Schneider Jr was following right behind Reitter. Reitter had problems in practice and got them figured out in the heat race. Reitter looking outside of Theil for third but couldn’t get a run right away. Smart was patient and stayed in the tracks of Adams. Smart was looking high and low. Smart makes a little contact on Adams, but checks up to let him correct it. Couple laps later Smart made the move in the outside and battled with Adams. Smart final took the lead as Reitter was closing in on the top 2. Schneider Jr looking inside and outside of Thiel for fourth. When the double checkered flag waved, the “Professional Hotlapper” AKA Andrew Smart, was able to pick up his first career Late Model feature!!

Ross Mountain BBQ Crown Vics went flag to flag for 15 laps. Kyle Finlayson and Kyle Grewell started on the front row. Grewell would pull away early but he had Travis Roth behind him. Roth would look all over the back bumper to get around Grewell. Finlayson would be riding around in the third spot. New comer Ronald Cihon, who never raced before was learning the track each lap and pushing it just a little more each time. When the 15 laps were over it was Kyle Grewell getting the double checkered in a close race!

HRN Construction & Restoration Crate Modifieds hit the 3/10th mile oval for their 25 lap feature. Conrad Yoder and Bob Passwaters set up the top two spots. Yoder pulls into lead off turn two but Kenny Feister Jr got low of turn four to get the lead on lap 1. Phil Cox looking to the outside of Passwaters Jr, but Ian Porco was on the inside also for the number two position. Bob Page and Kevin McClintock just followed and waited. Lap 6, first caution of the night as Page got into the back of Cox going into turn three. First restart of the night with the Delaware Restarts. Feister would pull away but Porco and McClintock used the outside to move into second and third around Passwaters Jr. Cox and Page battle for fifth. Top 5 all right there bumper to bumper. Porco to the inside in three on Feister, Feister up track and Porco drives in and they make contact. They continue but yellow comes out as Cox goes up on the left rear quarter of Passwaters Jr. Feister Jr gets a good start for final couple laps. McClintock on outside of Porco for second. Porco gets second as Page looks low on McClintock. At the Double Checkered flag it was Kenny Feister Jr picking up the win but after going to through tech, he was disqualified, giving the win to Ian Porco.

My Water Doctor Compact hit the speedway for their 20 lap feature. Alan Walker and Jamie Leslie set the pace for the start. Leslie would get the lead off turn 2. Problems with Cameron Walker as he goes through the infield off turn 2. Blaze Bacon making a run the front early. Alan Walker holding onto second but Bacon and Kaeden Scott right behind him but soon pass on the inside off turn four. Leslie hot on the breaks going into the corners. Bacon on the back bumper of Leslie. Gavin Roup looking all over Josh Huff for fourth. Bacon to inside of Leslie for race lead as Scott follows suit also. Caution on lap 18 as Roup looks to inside of Huff on backstretch, as they make contact sending Huff sideways in 3 and 4. On restart Bacon gets a good start as Scott and Roup follow. Here comes Erik John

son to the inside of Leslie for fourth. At the double checkered flag it was “The Sizzler” Blaze Bacon picking up his first win of the season. Last feature of the evening was the second compact feature. Jordan Grewell and Dylan Martin started up front. A green but quick yellow for failed start. Martin gets a good start and gets lead but here comes Jimmy McKinley on the outside. Alex Walker following on outside. Into turn one Justice Lenarz goes up into Walker spinning him. McKinley gets a good start as Scott Whitten follows using the outside lane on start. Jonathan Weber up to third. New leader, Whitten into turn 3. Larry Ennis Jr being sneaky and calm coming through the field. Ennis Jr to inside of Weber for third. Caution for Allan Boyd spinning on own in turn 3. Whitten gets the green and we go back to racing. Caution for Peyton Martin and Grewell making contact of turn 2. Whitten gets another go start, as McKinley is under pressure from Ennis Jr and Lenarz for second. Lenarz gets to second as Ennis Jr gets to inside of McKinley for third. AJ Andrews after no practice, only heat race, he sits fourth and just staying clean. Lenarz high, Whitten low, off turn 4, Whitten gets the double checkered flag.
