The 2013 season opener at Midvale Speedway, scheduled for Saturday, April 20, has been postponed due to a frigid forecast. The opener will now be held on Saturday, April 27.
Late Models, Economy Modifieds, Pure Stocks, Mini Trucks, Compacts, and Funpacts will all be in action, racing for double points.
McIntosh Oil Company, Bloom's Printing, and Pepsi will present the event which will also feature $1 hot dogs and $1 sodas in the concession stand.
Fans will enjoy the newly renovated grandstand area as well as the new concrete walkways.
Drivers will be on a new tire this year as Goodyear stopped the short track program. American Racer was the brand of choice and so far the reviews are pretty good. The Late Models look to be about 3 tenths quicker, while the Modifieds and Pure Stocks have picked up a little time as well.
Racing Saturday, April 27 will start at 6:30. Pit gates open at 2:00, hotlaps and grandstands at 3:30, and qualifying will start at 5:00.
Admission prices remain unchanged at $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 62+, $8 for kids 6-15, and children 5 and under are free. Pit admission is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. The membership price is $35.
