 The 2013 New Towne Mall Car Show is complete. It was one of the best car shows in recent memory. Job well done on the schemes. Photos have been added to the facebook page as well as a place to vote on the best car in each class.
Up next, test and tune this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14 from 12:00-5:00 each day. $10 per person pit admission. Grandstands free.
The 2013 Midvale Speedway racecar show is this coming weekend, Friday April 5-Sunday April 7 at the New Towne Mall in New Philadelphia, OH. The show leads up to test and tune on April 13/14/19, and the season opener on April 20.
Cars will enter the mall on Thursday night at 9 and exit on Sunday evening at 6. They will be on display throughout the mall hallways during regular business hours. In upwards of 30 drivers have signed up, which should make for one of the best shows in recent years.
Construction has resumed at the facility and is going well despite the recent cold weather. The gravel walkways are being replaced with concrete and new seating is being installed. In the fall, the pit area was expanded. Construction photos are updated regularly on the Midvale Speedway facebook page.
The 60th anniversary season opener is slated for Saturday, April 20 with double points slated for a large field of cars and the new truck division. The speedway will hold races weekly on Saturday evenings through mid-September.

The Pro-Formance Swap Meet at the Stark County Fairgrounds is this coming Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3 in Canton, Ohio. Midvale Speedway will have a booth setup passing out schedules and rules as well as registering numbers and fielding questions.
The 2013 racecar show at the New Towne Mall will be held Friday, April 5 - Sunday, April 7 for Midvale Speedway racers. Spots are still available for any of the regular divisions as well as the travelling series Anyone interested, contact the speedway to let us know.
Due to Goodyear stopping production of their racing tire, Midvale Speedway has come to an agreement with American Racer Tire to become the new tire at the track. Late Models will be running the EC-31 while Modifieds and Pure Stocks are competing on the AR-970. Tires are scheduled to be in next week.
There are just a few dates remaining on the schedule for co-sponsorship nights in 2013. Cost is only $500 and includes announcements during the evening, a place to display products or pass out info, and tickets to watch the races. Midvale Speedway Among Choices To Win 51 Awards
It's that time of year where racefans, team members, and drivers get the chance to vote on the best of the best in short track racing. The nominations are in and voting for the 51's has begun on speed51.com. Midvale Speedway is one of this year's candidates for the Best Weekly Venue in Set Design. In addition, track announcer, Adam Mackey is among the picks for Best Sound Production - Short Track Announcer.
Casting a ballot is allowed once per day and all categories must be voted upon. To do so, go to speed51.com and cast your selections.

2013 Divisional Rules Have Been Posted
(11-5-12) The divisional rules for Midvale Speedway's 6 weekly divisions have been posted in the rules section. Late Model, Economy Modified, Pure Stock, Compact, FunPact, and Mini-Truck rules are all online.
2013 Rules & Banquet Tix This Weekend At Swap Meet
(11-1-12) The Pro-Formance Swap Meet at the Stark County Fairgrounds is this Saturday and Sunday. I just got done updating the rules and sent them off to the print shop. They will be available this weekend. Banquet tickets are also available this Saturday and Sunday. Sunday is the last day to purchase, no question. The banquet is next Saturday.

Main Event XXV Heading To Sandusky October 20-21
The season ending specials across the country are winding down and one that many mark on their calendars has a change of venue in 2012. The Main Event Racing Series, holding its 25th annual season ending Main Event for Outlaw Super Late Models, is scheduled to run a 100-lap, $6,000 to win race Sunday, October 21st at Sandusky (OH) Speedway. The event was previously scheduled for September but was postponed due to inclement weather. Go to maineventracingseries.com for full info.
Awards Banquet Coming Saturday, November 10
The awards banquet, celebrating the top ten in each of Midvale Speedway's weekly divisions, is scheduled for Saturday, November 10th at the McDonald's Marlite Conference Center at 143 McDonald Drive, SW, in New Philadelphia, OH.
In addition to the top ten division awards, special awards will be announced and given out to the most improved, rookies of the year, sportsmen of the year, hard luck drivers, best appearing cars, outstanding pit crews, and most popular drivers in each class. A Young Gun Award, Longtime Service Award, a Rollover Award, and Track Record Awards are also on the docket. To claim cash and trophy prizes, drivers must attend the banquet.
There are a number of ways to order tickets. Stop by the track during the week between 10 AM and 4 PM, Smith's Auto Sales at 1816 Cleveland Avenue SW in Canton, Ohio 44707 during regular business hours or send a check to that location made payable to Midvale Speedway. Tickets will also be available at the Dave & Ed's Pro-Formance Swap Meet at the Stark County Fairgrounds on November 3/4. Those will absolutely be the last two days to purchase tickets. We recommend that you get them ahead of time.
Tickets are $30 each and the price includes your meal, draft beer, soft drinks, and entertainment. Cocktail hour is at 6:00, dinner at 7:00, awards at 8:00, and dancing/music starts at 9:00.
