Ohio's Fun Place to Race!! 2026 Race Season |
 | May 17, 2014 |
Temperatures in the 40's and pesky rain showers forced a second cancellation in a row this past Saturday, May 17 at Midvale Speedway. All five divisions were scheduled to run heats, pursuits, and features. All attention now turns to the big upcoming event.
Drivers, teams, and fans are raring and ready to go for this Saturday, May 24. Summit Racing Equipment will present all five racing divisions with the McIntosh Oil Company Late Models and the Summit Racing Equipment Economy Modifieds running 50-lap features. At the end of the evening, one of the fan favorite events, the Skid Plate Race, will be held.
A skid plate race is one where front wheel drive automobiles have the rear tires removed and replaced with skid plates to create a ski effect with cars spinning and sparks flying. Anyone with a ride ready to go that needs skis or more info should contact Bryant at Canton Auto Salvage at 330-453-3888 or on Facebook.
A sizable field of Late Models and Economy Modifieds are expected to be on hand for the 50-lappers, while the J.D. Byrider Street Stocks, Canton Auto Salvage Compacts, and Finish Line Motors Mini Trucks will also be in action.
Pit gates will open at 2:30, hotlaps and grandstands at 3:00, qualifying at 4:45, and racing at 6:30. Fans will be treated to this special show for normal admission prices at $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $8 for kids 6-15, and children five and under are free. Pit admission is $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
