Racing action for Saturday, September 2 was canceled due to a persistent light rain/mist mixture that would not seem to let up. The Late Model 35 lap feature has not been rescheduled.
Officials held out all morning and most of the afternoon with the light rainfall expected to move out of the area. However, a heavier rain hit the track right as qualifying was set to start and it was decided to call the event at that time.
As in most cases, the weather dried up immediately after the cancellation, but another rainfall did dampen the area about an hour later.
Officials would like to thank all of the drivers and teams that made their way to the speedway hoping to race on Saturday evening. We are sorry that would could not get the event completed.
Anyone that attended Midvale Speedway this past Saturday, must present their wristband or rain check this coming Saturday for entry into the track. Anyone not coming this week may also use their rain check for the Fall Classic but will have to pay the difference.
Racing will continue this coming Saturday night, September 9 with the 2006 Season Championships. Late Models, Sport Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Compacts will all race for the extra large championship trophies. Qualifying begins at 4:15, while racing action will start at 6:30.
