After five weeks of dry weather and exciting racing, Midvale Speedway was forced to cancel for the first time this past Saturday, May 13. Officials decided to make the call during the morning hours because of an unfavorable afternoon and evening forecast.
The weekly four divisions plus the Compact Figure 8’s were scheduled to be on the program. The next Figure 8 race will be held on Saturday, June 10 as part of the USA Modified 100 evening. The Mother’s Day gifts will be given out this Saturday, May 20 to the first 200 mothers in attendance.
Racing this Saturday, May 20 will feature Spectator Drags at intermission. The first round of Spectator Drags this season was unbelievable. Jim Jaberg picked up the win in his Subaru WRX. Nearly 20 participants competed. Sign-ups will start Saturday after qualifying for the weekly four classes.
Pit gates open Saturday at 2:00, hotlaps start at 2:30, qualifying will be at 4:20, and racing action will begin at 6:30. Admission prices are still $10 for adults, $8 for seniors 62+, $6 for students 6-15, and children 5 and under are free. For more information, go to midvalespeedway.com.
