Qualifying, heat, and pursuit action has been completed at Midvale Speedway for the 2005 Fall Classic. Feature action will be held on Sunday starting at 2:00 PM. Late Models, Sport Stocks, Pure Stocks, Compacts, Figure 8’s, and Legend Cars will all be in competition.

The 2005-season ending Fall Classic will be held this Saturday and Sunday, September 17/18 at Midvale Speedway. The two-day show will feature invitationals for Late Models, 350 Sportsman/Sport Stocks/Street Stocks, 305 Pure Stocks, and 4/6 cylinder Compacts and Mini-Stocks. In addition, a figure 8 race will be held Sunday as well as the regional qualifier for the Legend cars.

Action for the weekend will begin on Friday, September 16, as an open practice will be held from 3:00-Dark. Pit admission for Friday is $15, while grandstand admission is free. Haulers may also be left in the pits that night to help save time on Saturday. Midvale competitors that purchased pads this season, will have their pads saved until at least 12:00 Saturday afternoon.

Saturday, September 17, qualifying, heats, and pursuits will be held for Late Models, 350 Sport Stocks, 305 Pure Stocks, and the Mini-Stock Compact invitational. Pits open at 11:00, hotlaps start at 12:00, qualifying is at 2:30, and the racing action will begin at 6:30. A special non-winner race for Midvale Compact regulars will also be held for any driver that has competed at least 4 weeks and not won any race this season. Spectator drags are at intermission.

Sunday, September 18 will be action packed as well. The Late Models will be running 50 laps for $1500 to win and $200 to start. The 350 Stock Car Invitational will be 40 laps for $500 to win and $100 to start. The 305 Stock Car Invitational will be 30 laps for $400 to win and $75 to start and the special 4/6 Cylinder Mini-Stock/Compact Invitational A-feature will be 25 laps for $300 to win and $30 to start. Depending on the number of cars for these classes, other features may be added. Racing will start at 2:30.

The regional qualifier for the Legend cars will also be held on Sunday. Qualifying is set for 1:15, while the feature that afternoon will be a 35-lapper paying at least $400 to win. The Sunday portion of the Fall Classic will be wrapped up with a Mini-Stock/Compact Figure 8 race paying $300 to win.

Adult grandstand admission prices on Saturday are $12, $15 on Sunday, and $25 for a two-day pass. Student (6-15) admission is $6 on Saturday, $8 on Sunday, and $12 for a two-day pass. Pit admission is $25 for Saturday, $40 for Sunday, and $50 for a two-day.

Event Rules:
Late Models - 102” wheelbase – 2800 lbs, 60% left side max to be weighed after feature. 360 cubic inch max., 2 bbl carbs. (big boosters okay, but must fit gauge). 8”x 72” rear spoiler max. Goodyear D1677 and D1678 300 series 10” tires and wheels only.

350 Stock Car Invite - 108” wheelbase. 350 .030 over with flat tops. Stock holley 4412 carb, cast intake, stock cast iron heads. All cars that meet Midvale Sport Stock rules 3,000 lbs. Barberton Street Stock, Sandusky Sportsman, or other Sportsman like cars add 100 lbs. 4” minimum frame height. 8” steel wheel max. with Goodyear D2565, D2564, D2563, or D2652 or Hoosier Commanche tires only.

305 Pure Stock Invite - American made cars with 104” wheelbase minimum. No cameros, trans ams, or firebirds. 6” minimum frame height. V-8/V-6 only. 305 chevy, 307 olds, 302 ford, 301 pontiac, and 318 chrysler, must be automatics. Front wheel drive V-6 no larger than 3.1 litre. Street radials with a 70 series max.

Compact/Mini-Stock Invite - 4 point roll cage. American or foreign 4 or 6 cylinder front wheel drive, 2 to 4 door with auto or standard transmission. 6 cylinders - automatics only. Only 2 valves allowed per cylinder. No turbos. Stock D.O.T. street tires 60 series maximum.

Other Event Rules
Safety: Must have standard safety equipment. 4 point roll cage with seat belt, shoulder harness, window net, fully charged fire extinguisher, an approved racing helmet, and fire suit are required. Racing gloves and a head and neck restraint device of some sort are optional but recommended. One-way receiving scanner locked at 154.5700 MUST be used. Radios are not allowed.

All cars will qualify Saturday between 2:30 and 5:30. Depending on number of cars, more or less features will be run. A qualifying breakout rule of .15 will be utilized. A 3-dice roll will determine the inversion for each of the four classes features. Drivers that attend Sunday only, will qualify at 1:30 and will start at rear of the feature that they qualify for. Drivers with duplicate numbers will be told to add a letter to help alleviate any possible confusion. Car number and division letter must be displayed on upper right of windshield in white or yellow and 3” high. On Sunday, engines are not to be fired before 12:00.

Compact Non-Winners Race Saturday Night, September 17

On Saturday night of the 2005-Fall Classic, a special non-winner race for Midvale Compact regulars will be held for any driver that has competed at least 4 weeks and not won any race this season. The race will be the last of the evening.

At this time, there are 19 drivers eligible to compete. If any driver wins a preliminary race on Saturday night before the event is held, they will be scratched from the starting line-up.
