Racing for Saturday, August 27, was cancelled due to rain. Racing will resume on Saturday, September 3, as the Lorain-Midvale Late Model Super 6 50 lapper will be held. One of the best Late Model fields in several years is expected.
All of Midvale Speedway’s regulars will be joined by the likes of Lorain drivers, Jimmy Carter, John Sandquist, Norm Taylor, Bobby Porter, Paul Adkins, and Don Harvey, Jr. Harvey currently leads the Super 6 points, while Midvale competitors Mike Miller and Bubba Smith complete the top three.
The special 50-lapper for the Performance Race Fuels Late Model division will be held on the first of four remaining nights of racing. Sport Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Compacts will join the Late Models to run heats, pursuits, and features. At intermission of the September 3 program, the kid’s (10 and under) gold rush will be held.
The 2005-season championship races will be run on Saturday, September 10. Championship night will see drivers competing for points, bigger trophies, and pride on the final point night.
Those two events will take fans and race teams to the season ending, 2005 Dover-Phila Federal Credit Union Fall Classic. The invitational will feature Late Models, a 350 Stock Class, a 305 Stock Class, Legend cars, a Figure 8 race, and a Compact/Mini-Stock 4/6 cylinder invite. Racing action for this Saturday’s Late Model 50 lapper will start at 6:30, while pit gates open at 2:00, hotlaps are at 2:30, and qualifying is at 4:00. Admission prices for this special event will be regular at $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $6 for kids 6-15, and children five and under are free. Wristbands and rain checks from the August 13 date may be used on either the September 3 date or September 10 event.
