2018 Race Season

|An eventful evening was on tape this past Saturday at Midvale Speedway. With a hot night and a couple new drivers on hand, the night's racing was going to be eventful and action packed. Fans, especially the kids, enjoyed the Autograph session!|
The first division on the track was the Finish Line Motor Mini Truck division. Midvale veteran and almost a veteran but a sophomore driver set the pace. #2T of Barney Gerber was looking to get back in victory, but Colt Locker wanted to get his #118 truck, for himself in victory lane this weekend. Garber would pull out to a early race lead but would get cut short. On Lap 2, #84 of Schweitzer would battle to the outside of Gerber. Both would be going back and forth for the race lead till lap 7. Lap 8, Schweitzer would clear Gerber and become the race leader. Locker and Gerber would continue to battle for the second spot. Off of turn number four, picking up his fourth win of the season, in the Vanmeters Auto, Federated Auto parts Sponsored, #84 of Rich Schweitzer. Following was Gerber, Locker, Frederick, and Bausher. Heat win went to Colt Locker. Top Qualifier was Rich Schweitzer.
Up next was the McIntosh Oil Company Late Model division. When the green fell, Mack Gribble Jr and Cody Jaberg led the field to green. As a quick caution would wave as caution light was left on and outside lane slowed up. Rookie Jaberg would jump out to the race lead and start to check out. Battle became throught the field as Stankiewicz, Bubba Smith, and Rosenberry start to drive under the high side, Gault Jr got stuck up high as inside was moving. Seven to Eight lap battle between Bryant Smith and gribble for the second spot. Gribble kept on battle back after diving deep into three and four each lap and making a race down the front straightaway. Gribble and Smith make a little contact and both slide up the track. Stankiewicz goes low and takes second. Bubba Smith and Rosenberry make the pass on the low side and move to third and fourth. Cody Jaberg holding a good line up front started to get a little challenge. Stankiewicz would go high on lap 24 and battle with Jaberg. On lap 25, Cody Jaberg drove just a little deep in three and spins after making a little contact with Stankiewicz. Stankiewicz and Bubba Smith set the pace. Both battled back and forth. Caution would wave as #3 of Matin comes down on Cody Jarbeg off turn 2 down the back straightaway. Smith was the new leader as he had the line by inches. Smith and Stankiewicz would go green but a quick caution in one and two. Smith hit the brakes in the middle of the turn; Stankiewicz was low, just clips Smith and Smith spins. Smith and Rosenberry sent up the restart. Both battled the last three laps side by side. Picking up the win, was the Finish Line Motors, Finish Line Designs Sponsored, #12 of Bubba Smith. Following was Rosenberry, Gribble Jr, Bryant Smith, and Martin. Heat went to Bryant Smith and Cody Jaberg. Top Qualifier was Alex Rosenbeery.
After the pictures were taken, the South Philly Pizza Compacts began rolling out. Buckey and McDonald Jr set the pace for the 15 lap feature. Buckey would use the inside and try to pull away but McDonald kept battling to the high side. Lap 2, seen the first caution as #8 of Patterson stops in turn four. Buckey and McDonald would begin to start going back at in on the start. Salsberry, Riddle, and France would be behind them trying to find an opening. Lap 6, McDonald and Riddle made a little contact in three and four and McDonald would start to go backwards. Buckey, Salsberry, France, and Riddle made it a four way battle for the lead. Caution would come out on lap 8, as Cogar drives into turn 1, makes contact with Oliver, sending him spinning. Buckey and Salsberry set the pace. Continue to go back and forth for the lead. Lap 10, caution for debris on the track. Salsberry lost the second to France the lap before cause of the caution, goes back to last completed lap. Buckey and France would stay side by side all the way to the checkered flag. Picking up the win by .012 inches was the Norma Mae Huggins Foundation; Mid-Vid sponsored #69 of Dan Buckey. Following was France, Salsberry, Riddle, and Vanmeter. Heat wins went to France, Ross, Kohl, and Lawson. Top Qualifier was Jeffery Orr.
Summit Racing Economy Modifieds were ready to take the green. When the green fell, front row starter Jason Grewell led early and started to check out. Grewell skillfully began working the track, searching for a fast line, and eventually finding it. Grewell began pulling on the field every lap. Bailey and McClintock and Todd Ripley started to make a run to the front. Ripley started to battle with Bowers and Westlake to get around them. Ripley, McClintock, and Baily finally move into the top 4, do they have enough time to catch Grewell. On Lap 20, became a 4 race lead battle. Ripley got loose a little had to brake and McClintock went up track but stayed in fourth. Bailey made an inside pass on Ripley and was right on the bumper of Grewell. Lap 22, Bailey goes high off turn two, into turn three. Makes the on the high side, and clears off turn four. Bailey would start to check out as Ripley tried to get around Grewell. Picking up his third win of the season, the Dover Hydraulics, Scio Car Wash sponsored #55 of Brandon Bailey. Following was Grewell, Ripley, McClintock and Westlake. Heat wins went to Harding and Williams. Top Qualifier was Kevin McClintock.
Next feature was the J.D. Byrider Street Stocks hitting the track. Feister and Collins would set the pace. Feister would jump out to an early race lead. Pringle, Martin, and Grove all started in the back made the outside stick. Martin and Aubhil were leading the inside and outside closing in on the front. Grove was looking very good in the high lane. Pringle, been on a mission from starting in the back. On lap 8, Martin started to battle Feister for the top spot. Martin keeps on trying. Martin final got a run but Feister over drove and got into Martin. Caution waved for the only time. Martin and Aubihl would set the pace with 10 to go. Grove and Pringle would get around Aubihl for second and third the next two laps. Pringle would start to race with grove to get around him for the second spot. Pringle clears Grove off turn two, and sets up the run to catch Martin. Pringle goes to the high side and clear Martin on lap 16. Martin continues to get pressure from Grove but holds him off. Picking up his third win of the season, in the WTUZ 99.9, Creative Floats, sponsored #7 of Gabe Pringle. Following was Martin, Grove, Aubihl, and Passwaters Jr. Heat and Top Qualifier was Gabe Pringle.
Final feature was the Second South Philly Pizza Compacts. Chad Smith and Lawson sent the from row for the green. Lawson would get the lead as Clark, Nign, Kohl, and Striejewske all trying to close in. Lap 2, a caution as #88 of James spins on her own tries to save it but spins into turn one. Lawson and Clark would bring the field to green. Lawson would still have Clark and Nign behind him. Man on the move was Frederick and grabbed second on the white flag lap. Picking up the win was the #54 of Kyle Lawson. Following was Frederick, Clark, Nign, and Striejewske.
