 Midvale Speedway played host to some great racing to start your Memorial weekend off right.
This past weekend featured some first time winners in 2017, couple repeats, and one first time career win. Crowd wasn’t disappointed by the action they saw on the race track.

First feature up was the 50 Lap Summit Racing Economy Modifieds. Siblia Jr in the #02 and Willison Jr in the #98 set the front row for the 50 lap feature. Green waved and Sibila and Willison battle for two laps side by side. On lap 2, Sibila got the advantage on the outside. Battle for the 5th and 6th spot between Todd Ripley and Brandon Bailey. Lap 3, Bailey cleared Ripley off turn 4, but problems for Ripley would bring out the caution in turn one and two as his throttle stuck and lost his steering. Restart Lap 3 with Sibila and Willison as Sibila would jump out front. On Lap 4, was a good battle for the 4th spot with Bailey and Harding. Sibila started to check out but lap 9, problem for the leader came as Sibila lost power off turn two, and Willison, Bailey, and McClintock moved on up. Siblia got his hotrod back running but feel back to 4th. McMillen First night out and was having problems in feature. Lap 13, McMillen looked to have possibly spin out in one but saves it and keeps going. Lap 17 to lap 23, Bailey contuied to look high and low on Willison. Lap 24, McClintock would look low and take over second spot from Bailey, as Bailey goes back to third. McCreery start out back and made a charge at the half way point. Caution would wave on lap 26 as #27 of Mack Gribble spins on his own off turn four. Restart would set up, Willison and McClintock on the 24 lap shootout. McClintock would clear Willison off turn two, and not look back. Bailey and Willison would continue to battle for the second spot. McCreery and Sibila battle for the fourth spot. Good battle from sixth and seventh with Shimko and Gribble. Willison and Bailey couldn’t close in on McClintock. Picking up his 2nd feature of 2017. In the Vanmeters Auto Repair, Dean Mowels at Ferris, Blink Tool and Die #38, of Kevin McClintock get the win. Following was Willison Jr, Bailey, McCreery, and Sibila Jr. Heat wins went to Harding and Sibila Jr. Top Qualifier was Kevin McClintock.
South Philly Pizza Compact Feature came up next. 15 lap feature was set with #38 of France and #58 of Cogar. Green waved and France and Cogar battled for 2 laps side by side. Good battles throughout the field like every race so far this year. Caution waves for the first and only time on lap 2. #17x of Bobby Gainer looks to have lost power and stop in pit shout. Green comes back out with France and Cogar. France gets an early jump on lap 5 as Cogar backs up the outside get Finlayson stuck behind him. Riddle tried to battle on the outside also tried to get it going. Drivers coming through the field so far were Vanmeter and Oliver. Three way race lead battle on lap 9 to the double checkered with France, Oliver, and Vanmeter. Oliver stayed right on the outside as Vanmeter stayed right there in pursuit. At the double checkered flag, a photo finish as France beats Oliver by .050 at the line. Picking up his First career feature win in the Skyline, South Philly Pizza Sponsored #38 of Brandon France. Following was Oliver, Vanmeter, Finlayson, and Riddle. Heat wins went to Oliver, McDonald, Clark, and Kohl. Top Qualifier was Jeffery Orr.
Middle feature went to the McIntosh Oil Company Late Model 50 Lapper. #3 of Dave Martin and #45 of Mack Gribble set the front row for the 50 Main Event Feature. Green waved and Gribble gets a good jump in the high lane. Bryant Smith, Rosenberry, and Tedesco made a run on the high side. On lap 3, Bryant Smith went high on Gribble for the race lead. Lap 4, Smith was in the lead. Gribble started to fall back in the high lane. Lap 6 seen first caution as Gribble got loose up high, Bubba Smith checks up and Stankiewicz gets into the back of Smith and sends him spinning off turn four. Restart with Bryant Smith and Rosenberry up front. Smith clears Rosenberry into turn three. As Rosenberry and Tedesco battle for the second spot, Rosenberry battles to get second. Battle for third with Tedesco and Bubba Smith. On lap 9, Rosenberry hits the front straightaway wall hard right at the flag stand. He was able to go off the track under own power and no caution needed. Lap 24, seen the next big battle. Battle for the lead as Bubba Smith looked low on Bryant Smith and cleared going into turn one. Tedesco would follow behind Smith to take over the second spot. Caution would wave on lap 29, as Bryant Smith closes the door on Gribble into turn one. Smith gets a flat right rear tire and goes pit side to change and gets back out there on restart. Green waves then a quick caution as #21 of gage Jaberg loses power down the back straightaway. Give another try on the start but quick caution as a failed start by the top two. Lap 29, green waves with 21 laps to go. Bubba Smith jumps out front but Tedesco battle and stays right on the bumper. Lap 33, Gribble had right front suspension go down and goes pit side. Tedesco and Smith would start to check out. Bryant Smith makes his run back through the field. At the end, to the Double checkered flag, the Finish Line Design, Finish Line Motors #12 of Bubba Smith parks it in Finish Line Motors Victory Lane. Following was Tedesco, Bryant Smith, Stankiewicz and Schneider. Heat wins went to Bryant Smith and Cody Jaberg. Top Qualifier was Ryan Tedesco.
Fourth feature was the J.D.Byrider Street Stocks. Father Son Front row with Passwaters Sr and Jr. Green waved as Passwaters Sr would hug the bottom and make them go high. On lap 2, battle for second as Passwaters Jr and Hoopingarner battle for three, four laps back and forth. As Passwaters Jr gets second, as he set sail for his father Passwaters Sr. Smith would move up to third by passing Hoopingarner. Battle for the fourth spot between four drivers. Pringle, Early, Ritchey, and Hoopingarner all battled hard for fourth by going high and low on each other. Lap 11, seen the first caution as the #7 of Pringle comes down on Early in turn one and two. Restart with Passwaters Jr and Sr would bring it green but a quick caution into turn one as Early comes down into #44 of Smith. Green flag would wave with the restart under way. Lap 12, Passwaters Jr would finally take over the race lead off turn two. As driver on the move in the high lane was Pringle. Pringle make a move with two laps to go. White flag waves and Passwaters has pringle by inches at the line. At the Double Checkered flags, #7 “Geno Garage”, WTUZ, Tim Bickford at Parkway, Keiths Car, of Gabe Pringle, becomes 4th different winner in 4 races. Following was Passwater Jr, Passwaters Sr, Ritchey, and Hartline. Heat wins went to Pringle and Passwaters Jr. Top Qualifier was Gabe Pringle.
Finish Line Motors Mini Truck feature was next. #87 of Fishburn and #95 of Varnes brings the field to green. Going into turn one, Fishburn goes up the track into Varnes. Gerber looks low and get the lead off of turn two down the back straightaway. Going into turn one on lap 1, #14 of Chad Smith blows a motor. Gerber and Aubihl bring to green with 11 to go. Aubihl gets a run on the high side as Gerber gets into him a little off of turn two. Aubihl checks out over Gerber, Fishburn and Varnes. Battle for third as Varnes and Fishburn kept on going back and forth. Battle for second on lap 8, as Gerber and Varnes goes at it. Picking up first win of 2017 filling in for Locker. Pulling into victory lane was the GM Electric, Townhouse Drive thru, #118 of Bill Aubihl. Following was Gerber, Varnes, Fishburn, and Frederick. Heat and Top Qualifier Bill Aubihl.
Final Feature was the South Phiily Pizza Compacts. #64 Trevor Kohl and #0 of Allen Clark set the pace. Green waves but quick yellow as a failed start by the top two. Green waves again and battle between Kohl and Clark began. Kohl would clear the next lap and gain the lead. Lap 2, yellow waved as #41 of Cook stops in turn three and four. Kohl and Clark again would set pace as Clark gets a great start going into turn one. Lawson and Herron would battle as Clark and Kohl set the top two spots. Lap 9, seen next caution as #79 of Brokaw spins on own in three and four. Clark and Lawson would bring to green as they continued to battle. Would be a quick live as 4E of Eichel would spin on own in turn two. Clark and Lawson bring the field to green with 5 laps to go. Kugler in the #47 goes deep into turn three and Kohl tries to close the door and they make contact. Kohl loses his front bumper with the contact into turn one on lap 12. Green comes back out. Lawson and Clark having a good battle into turn three. Lawson makes contact with Clark. Both go up the track and Herron drives in and goes into lead off turn four. Clark and Lawson regroup and try to pass Herron. Picking up his 2nd career feature this year, #30, The Skyline, Pensos Pizza, of Korey Herron. Following was Clark, Nign, moore, and Lawson.
Spectator drags went to Josh Huff
Skid Plate race to Kyle Finlayson.
