Midvale Speedway Test & Tune CompleteA good number of teams took advantage of the great weather and got some laps in this past weekend at Midvale Speedway for test and tune. Around 25 cars were on the track Saturday, while over 30 were on hand Sunday.

In the McIntosh Oil Company Late Model division, a total of 6 drivers shook down their rides. Fastest of the weekend was Ryan Tedesco of Dover, Ohio, with a 14.057 and is back after a year and a half off. 2-Time champion Bubba Smith was second quick with a 14.068. Third Fastest was Mike Martin. Martin turned his fastest lap on Sunday with a 14.158. Also on hand was Bryant Smith, Bob Schneider Jr, and Johnny Hughes.

Twelve Summit Racing Equipment Economy Modifieds were trackside during the two day test. Fastest was 2-Time champion in the Modifieds, Kevin McClintock who turned a 14.678. Bryce Allensworth was right behind him at a 14.745. Also hitting the track were Doug McMillon, Glen Jewell, Adam Stewart, Brandon Bailey, Phillip Cox, Braden Swaney, Jeff Bowling, Keith Krebs, and Trey Williams.

In the J.D. Byrider Street Stock class, New Cumberland, Ohio driver Josh Moss/Todd Miller set fast time for the weekend with a 16.373. Robbie Patterson was second quick in practice with a very respectable time of 16.776. Also on hand was Rookie Kyle Grove who looked fast but didn’t have a timing device on, Rookie Colton Ritchey who was in a kart last year, and purchased 2014 Track Champ car from a year ago, Brian Lewis Jr, Brian Lewis Sr, and TJ Barker were also turning laps. The class looks like it will be pretty strong in 2015.

Justin Renicker set fast time in the Compact division, with a 17.714. Dan Buckey/Adam Mishler, Laney Striejewske, Daniel Risley, Gage Jaberg, Brianna Boron, Kyle Finlayson, Jim Keller, Joe Oliver, Brandon France, Zack Cogar, Hunter Corbett, Shebaray Corbett, and Korey Herron were also on track. Also shaking down there rides were Jake Albright and Don Rufener III with times in the 16’s.

Competitors in the Mini Truck division were Cody Jaberg in a beautiful Truck for 2015 and Derek Cordia.

Coming up this Saturday April 18th, the 2015 Season Opener Presented by McIntosh Oil Company. Double points for Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stock, Compacts, and Mini Trucks. Pit gates will open at 2:30, hotlaps and grandstands at 3:00, qualifying will start at 4:45, and racing will begin at 6:30. Grandstand admission for this weekend's opener is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 62+, and $8 for kids 6-15. Children 5 and under are free. Pit admission $30 A final tune-up session is set for Friday, April 17th from 4:00-8:00. Pit admission will be $10.
