50 cc Kid Kart

 

This class is for ages 5-7 years old

 

Official weight is optional. Ruling dependent upon physical weight of class participants. Suggested weight is 125lbs to 150lbs.

 

The only legal engine is a Box Stock Comer C-50, 1.8 HP, fixed jet carb, jet size #54-58, .475 No Go Venturi. Blueprinting is allowed as long as it is within specs.

 All parts "as cast".   No cutting of crank seals.  No cutting or tearing of gaskets. No stacking of intake or exhaust gaskets.

 

No advancing of timing, no alterations of the cranks or coils. Timing key must be in place, at factory tension, straight up with no shaving or alterations of any kind. This includes offset keys.

 

Restrictor Plate must be in.  Air Filter must be stock, 1 element.  Taping of shroud is ok.

 

Head cc, 75cc minimum. Liner and aluminum cylinder "as cast". Engine is not legal if any metal has been removed to match port opening to aluminum cylinder.Piston 1.210 min. from bottom ring. Stock rings with maximum end gap of .040", rings cannot fall through cylinder. All measurments No Go.


Exhaust: Stock muffler only. Original manufacture only. Only two holes. Vertical measurement No Go .110 each hole / Horizontal measurement No Go .475 each hole.

 

Stock Clutch with stock Comer parts. Must remain as cast. No metal may be removed, however shoes may be aged. (sanded)

 

Kid Kart Specifications:

Chain guard is to completely cover chain when viewed from above.

Comer 219 chain, 10 tooth driver, 89 axle sprocket.

No offset karts. Seat must not be offset beyond outside edge of left frame rail.

Wheelbase: minimum 29”, maximum 31”.

Width: Front maximum 40” as measured to outside of rim/tire. (no minimum)

                Rear minimum 39”, maximum 42” as measured from to outside of rim/tire.

Steering height: maximum 20”.              Seat Height: minimum 12”.

CIK “KID” KART with CIK body and rear bumper covering rear tires as seen from the rear.  Side pods or double nerf bars and nose cones are mandatory.

 

Open Tire, Front size is 4:50-5, rear 5:50-5. Maximum rear tire circumference is 33 ľ”.

 

The fuel is gas and oil.

 

Chest Protectors: You must have a chest protector with the metal chest plate in it.

 

Participants must have a minor release form signed by a parent or guardian on file with the M.K.C. and must show their Minor Card upon entering the pits.

 

All drivers are required to meet with the KID KART DIRECTOR each race day at a meeting in the infield. If you do not attend the meeting you will not receive points for the day.  This meeting will take place after the regular drivers meeting and parents are asked NOT to attend. The purpose of this meeting will be to review and teach safety standards, how to maintain a smooth, constant and predictable line around the race track, to have a clear understanding of the flags, reacting under certain circumstances etc……… Each week a different topic will be discussed, as well as a review of previous meetings, to ensure each driver fully understands as much as possible all aspects of racing. M.K.C. believes by working with the kids on a consistent basis, that we can provide a safer and more fun racing environment, as well as produce some of the areas best Kid Karters.

 

 

80 cc Cadet

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

            Set gauge to –55. Competitors fuel may not exceed 0 (Zero).

 

Participants must have a minor release form signed by a parent or guardian on file with the M.K.C. and must show their Minor Card upon entering the front gate.

 

Chest Protectors: Chest Protectors meeting SFI Specification 20.1 are mandatory for all drivers in all classes where the maximum age is 12 or lower.

 

Rookie Alcohol / Rookie Animal 

This class is for ages 7 – 12.

 

Kart and driver must weigh a minimum of 265lbs as they exit the track after a race.

 

Briggs and Stratton stock Raptor engine with a .425 (purple) restrictor plate.

 

Briggs and Stratton box stock Animal engine with a .250 (black) restrictor plate.

 

We will not enforce the spec tire rule in this class. Open tire.

 

Raptor fuel is clear methanol. Animal fuel is gasoline. No additives.

Any competitor racing a box stock GAS Animal with a .250 restrictor plate may have their motor claimed by another competitor running the same type of motor. You must compete in the same class as the driver whose engine is being claimed. You must also be running for M.K.C. season points in order to claim a competitor’s engine. The person claiming another competitors motor must give written notice to the race director prior to the start of the feature race. Motor will be turned over following completion of the feature race. The cost will be the current selling price from Chuck’s Custom Kart Shop plus $25.00. Applicable sales tax applies. The engine will be complete minus the clutch, mount, air cleaner, throttle cable, chain guard, carb jets and throttle needle, fuel pump, oil fill cap with pulse fitting and exhaust. Any competitor refusing to let another competitor claim their engine will forfeit all season points and be suspended from competition in any M.K.C. events for the remainder of the season.

Briggs and Stratton stock Animal with .505 (gold) restrictor plate. WKA rules. Minimum weight is 325 lbs as kart and driver exit track.

 

Briggs and Stratton box stock Animal with a .312 restrictor plate. Minimum weight is 310 lbs as kart and driver exit track.

 

We will NOT enforce the spec tire rule in the class. Open tire.

 

Raptor and Animal with .505 plate fuel is clear methanol. Animal with .312 plate is gasoline. No additives.

This class is for ages 12 - 15.

 

Kart and driver must weigh a minimum of 310lbs.

 

Engines: KT-100, ARC-100, RK-100, US820

 

Exhaust: KT-100, ARC-100, and RK-100 use RLV SSX Can. US820 uses spec pipe, flex and header.

 

Open engine clutch, clutch is mandatory. No axle clutches.

 

We will NOT enforce the spec tire rule in this class. Open tire.

 

The fuel is gas and oil.

 

Participants under the age of 18 must have a minor release form signed by a parent or guardian on file with the M.K.C. and must show their Minor Card upon entering the front gate.

 

Senior Can

This class is for ages 15 and up.

 

Kart and driver must weigh a minimum of 340lbs. (Yam with Old Style Cylinder 345 lbs)

 

Engines: KT-100, ARC-100, RK-100, US820

 

Exhaust: KT-100, ARC-100, and RK-100 use RLV SSX Can.(4 hole)  US820 uses spec pipe, flex and header.

 

Open engine clutch, clutch is mandatory. No axle clutches.

 

We will NOT enforce the spec tire rule in this class. Open tire.

 

The fuel is gas and oil.

 

Participants under the age of 18 must have a minor release form signed by a parent or guardian on file with the M.K.C. and must show their Minor Card upon entering the front gate.

 

 

 

Senior “Long” Can

 

This class is for ages 15 and older.

 

Kart  and driver must weigh a minimum of 365 lbs as they exit the track.

 

Engines: KT-100, ARC-100, RK-100, US 820

 

Exhaust: Long Can

 

Open clutch, clutch is mandatory. No axle Clutches.

 

We will not enforce a tire rule in this class.

 

The fuel is gas and oil.

 

Participants under the age of 18 must have a minor release form signed by a parent or guardian on file with the M.K.C. and must show their Minor Card upon entering the front gate.

 

Junior Sportsman Champ 

This class is for ages 7 – 12.

 

Kart and driver must weigh a minimum of 315lbs. as they exit the track after a race.

 

Briggs and Stratton stock 5hp engine except must run a .500 (blue) restrictor plate.

 

We will enforce the spec tire rule in this class. Burris SS-55 tires only.

 

No titanium, aluminum or carbon fiber axles permitted. Axle must be produced from a ferrous material.

 

The fuel is clear methanol. No additives.

 

Fire suits are strongly recommended.

 

A 5-point bolt in or wrap around safety harness meeting SFI certification16.1 is required and must be installed in such a manner as to hold the driver firmly in place. If the seat prevents the harness from holding the drive securely in place, clean, rounded slots must be cut into the seat allowing the harness straps to pass through the slots. Metal to Metal type fasteners are mandatory when a bolt in type harness is used. Retaining nuts must be cotter-pinned or safety wired and must attach to a 3/16” steel plate (minimum 2” square) that is welded directly to the frame and/or roll cage structure. Harness must be recertified or replaced every two years.

 

Arm Restraints are mandatory and must attach to driver restraint lap belt and the other end should be attached between the wrist and the elbow of each arm.

 

Driver’s seat must be positioned in such a manner that NO portion of the driver’s seat may be closer than 6” minimum from the inside of the left nerf bar. This requirement is for “as raced” configuration and can be subjected to post race technical inspection.

 

A number plate with 6” numbers must be installed on the right side upper roll bar.

 

Participants must have a minor release form signed by a parent or guardian on file with the M.K.C. and must show their Minor Card upon entering the front gate.

 

Junior Champ 

This class is for ages 12 – 15.

 

Kart and driver must weigh a minimum of 350 lbs. as they exit the track after a race.

 

Briggs and Stratton stock 5hp engine.

 

We will enforce the spec tire rule in this class. Burris SS-55 tires only.

 

The fuel is clear methanol.

 

Fire suits are recommended.

This class is for ages 15 and older.

 

Kart and driver must weigh a minimum of 360 lbs. as they exit the track after the race.

400 lbs. for heavy class as they exit the track after the race.

Kart maximum weight is 200lbs.

 

Briggs and Stratton stock 5hp engine.

 

We will enforce the spec tire rule in this class. Burris SS-55 tires only.

 

The fuel is clear methanol. No additives.

 

Kart must have bodywork. Steering fairing allowed.

 

Participants under the age of 18 must have a minor release form signed by a parent or guardian on file with the M.K.C. and must show their Minor Card upon entering the front gate.
